~ Get To Know Mrs. Yoerke ~
GIANT Facts- The 2019-2020 school year will be my 15th year teaching Health and Physical Education at WMS.
- I've been teaching for a total of 16 years. I started in Trenton Public Schools.
- This is my 9th year as 8th Grade Advisor.
- I'm very proud to coach Field Hockey (15 years) and assist Mrs. Carmichael with the Girl's Basketball team.
- I proudly coached Softball for 14 years and finished my last season in 2018, recording 100+ wins coaching WMS Softball. I have many, many players and families to thank for always supporting the program and allowing me to be apart of their daughter's story. Everyone that wore our uniform as a player or manager will always hold a special place in my heart. Softball has always been my #1 sport. I started playing at 8 years old, and even played in Westampton's Adult Softball league for many years. As I close this chapter in my book, I wish nothing but love and luck to the program, the coaches, and the players. THANK YOU TO MY GIANT FAMILY!!
Me Facts
- I graduated from Rowan University in 2004, majoring in Health and Exercise Science.
- I'm a huge sports fan. My favorite teams are the Yankees, Redskins, Celtics, and Flyers. (I'm all over the place, I know!) Sometimes I accidently root for the 76ers...unless they are playing the Celtics, of course!
- I play indoor soccer in the Westampton Co-Ed League. I've seen a lot of familiar faces :)
- I co-organize a summer camp in Westampton with my husband, Mr. Yoerke. Come see us in Multi-Sport Camp!! We love to see so many familiar faces!
- OBX, North Wildwood, Point Pleasant are my favorite places to spend some quality family time during the summer months. The beach is my family's favorite place to be.
- I keep myself busy by playing sports, going to the gym, cooking, organizing anything I can get my hands on, crafting, sewing, decorating, watching movies, gardening, reading and jamming to my favorite songs.
- I hate crickets, grasshoppers, frogs and anything else that jumps. I've been known to scream and jump on my desk if one is in my office!
My School Facts
- My favorite subject in school was obviously PE. My second favorite was Math. If I wasn't a PE/Health teacher, I would have been a Math teacher or an Accountant.
- My hardest subject was Language Arts. I am not the best speller, and I wasn't very fond of reading when I was younger.
- I played the trumpet from 4th to 8th grade.
- My school colors for Elementary, Middle and High School were Blue and Gold. My college colors were Brown and Gold.
- I played softball and field hockey, as well as ran cross-country and winter track in school.
- I moved one time as a kid. I started a new school in 3rd grade.
