My name is Yashanta Holloway-Taluy and it is with great pleasure that I introduce myself to you as the new principal of Westampton Middle School. I am honored to join the Westampton Township community.

My educational experience includes serving as an English teacher for grades 8-12 in the Roselle Public School District for five years, and most recently as a vice principal and supervisor at Eastern Regional High School. Over the past five years at Eastern I was the grade level vice principal for the graduated class of 2017 and the soon to be graduating class of 2021. My responsibilities also included supervising the English, World Language, Visual and Performing Arts, Media Center, and ELL departments.

In addition to my own introduction, I would also like to introduce my family. My husband Anthony and I have two children, AJ (Anthony) who will be starting Kindergarten in September, and Penny (Penelope) who is 18 months old. You will undoubtedly see them as they are often at school events and will certainly become part of our school community. 

This summer I have been spending quite some time familiarizing myself with our building, community, and the unique needs of our school. My goal is to ensure that every child feels valued, connected to the WMS community, and receives a quality education. This will happen when our school and families work together and make decisions that best serve students’ interests.
