    Homework Folders

Students receiving speech services receive a homework folder at the beginning of the year to store current assignments and track completion of prior assignments. In order for an assignment to be marked complete, a parent/caregiver signature must be on the homework sheet. Students receive additional "tokens" for our in-class incentive board upon the completion of each homework assignment. "Tokens" can be exchanged for both non-tangible and tangible prizes throughout the year.

What type of homework will be assigned?

Speech homework is designed to practice current skills. Assignments can vary depending on the type of area being addressed that day in therapy. For example, if your child is being seen to help remediate an articulation disorder, assignments can include word lists that the student can read to practice their sounds. For students being seen with language goals, assignments can include tasks that offer continued practice of grammar rules, sentence building, etc.

    How often is homework assigned?

I try to provide homework at the end of every speech session. If an assignment is not provided, students are encouraged to use the resources on this page to complete exercises geared toward their annual goals.

How can my child receive additional practice?

Students are able to practice their skills using the listed resources on this website. Links include various activities that allow exposure to various language and speech concepts. See below for specific links to these areas. If your child completes activities on this page, please include a note in their speech folder in order for them to receive credit.
