Primer Sight Words
Suggested activities:
Word SearchPractice reinforcing your child's ability to read words by having him locate these words in nursery rhymes and books. In magazines and newspapers, have your child circle or highlight them.
Sentence building
- You will need index cards with the sight words written on them.
- Write your child's name on one
- Draw or cut out pictures on others.
- For words like "he", write the word beginning with a lower case letter on one side and with an uppercase on the back.
Your child can then flip to "He" to begin a sentence. This reinforces the rule that sentences begin with capital letters.
