Spelling & Sight Words
To help your child increase their reading
level students will learn several high frequency
words know as "Red Words" and"Sight Words".
These are words that your child needs
to READ by "Sight" or memorizing.
They are not words that should be sounded out.
By the end of the year we would like
each child to Spell & Read all the "RED" Words
and Read all the "Sight Words"
without hesitation and with a high fluency of speed.
Some of the "Sight Words" are also "Red Words".
When this occurs your child will need to know how
to READ & SPELL the word.
Every Friday they will be tested on how
to spell their RED Words.
